Oh, Hai; Look At Me

I know every once in a while, you’ll come across some dude with a questionable tendency to take and promote self portraits of himself on the interwebs (and trust me, you don’t wanna be that guy).  But I think it’s safe to say that vanity on the internets is a practice that’s decidedly dominated by the womens.  As a male who can appreciate the beauty of the fairer sex, I don’t have a huge problem with this on the surface.  But when you add the insanely large amount of revealing vanity shots on myspace, facebook, etc with the general vibe you get from women that they dislike being oggled and treated like sex kittens, something clearly isn’t adding up.

Let’s be real here.  If it were not for young women between the ages of 18-25, digital camera sales would probably drop 65%.  Yes, there are exceptions to every rule, but I’m a fan of blanket statements and I think it’s safe to say most women, in general, not only love posing for cameras (be they handled by themselves, or a “photographer”) but they also enjoy the response they get from these pictures.  Otherwise, they wouldn’t post them up for the world to see. Sure, some chicks mark their pages as private so you have to be their “friend” to see their pics.  But they show little to no restraint when it comes to adding “friends”, as evidenced by the amount of females with 100’s, sometimes 1,000’s of friends.  I don’t care how popular or awesome you are.  No one knows THAT many people on a personal level.  So that false sense of security you got when you marked your page as private so you could throw up pics of yourself wearing a thong and some snow boots is just that: FALSE.

But the true hilarity comes when these same women act insulted when a guy stares them down as they walk by; usually wearing something revealing or eye catching.  I’d respect them much more if they acknowledged the image they’re portraying and welcomed the attention.  But don’t be so full of yourself.  Not every guy that stares at your ass wants to fuck you.  In fact, most of them either have girlfriends, fuck buddies, or are cheating on their girlfriends with someone that isn’t you.  You embrace the attention you get on the internet when you put these pics up.  So embrace it with real life.  You can’t have it both ways.

Random pic of Kim Kardashian. :D
